HC Deb 05 March 1931 vol 249 cc591-2
65. Mr. C. WILLIAMS

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether the revaluation of property in connection with Schedule A has been commenced; and, if so, when ho expects it to be completed?

Mr. PETHICK-LAWRENCE

In England and Wales, outside the Metropolis, the revaluation of property is proceeding and notices of annual value will be ready for issue within the next two or three months. In the Metropolis and in Scotland only certain preliminary work has been done and the revaluation will not be completed before the autumn.

Mr. WILLIAMS

Have any special instructions been given to the hon. Gentleman's officials?

Mr. PETHICK-LAWRENCE

I do not know what the hon. Member has in mind.
