HC Deb 29 June 1931 vol 254 c874
27. Mr. DAY

asked the Minister of Agriculture if he will state what reply has been sent to the representations asking him to receive a deputation of farmers' representatives so that the position of tithe payers can be more clearly placed before him?

31. Mr. BUTLER

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether he can give the House an account of his conversations with the tithe owners; and what further action he proposes to take?

The MINISTER of AGRICULTURE (Dr. Addison)

I would refer the hon. Members to the notice which was issued to the Press on Friday last, copies of which I am sending to them. I am arranging to meet representatives of tithe payers on the 7th July.

Mr. BUTLER

In my question I asked the right hon. Gentleman whether he had anything to report regarding conversations with the tithe owners, which were announced for 25th June, and, if so, I should be grateful if he would tell us something about them.

Dr. ADDISON

I have nothing to report at present, beyond what was communicated by agreement to the Press.
