I have not yet received the evidence.

Mr. REMER

Can the right hon. Gentleman say when he expects to receive it?

Mr. BENN

I do not think that I can get it before the end of this week.

Mr. REMER

If I put a question down for Monday next, will the right hon. Gentleman be able to answer it?

Mr. BENN

The hon. Member can put a question down for Monday.

13. Mr. BRACKEN

asked the Secretary of State for India whether he can now inform the House as to the post to which Mr. F. G. Sale, late district magistrate at Cawnpore, has been transferred; and whether his transference in volves any alteration in status or remuneration?

Mr. BENN

As I informed the hon. Member on 15th June, Mr. Sale has elected to take leave.

Mr. BRACKEN

Did not the right hon. Gentleman tell me, on the contrary, that he would be allowed to stay in the Service?

Mr. BENN

If the hon. Gentleman will read the reply to his own question, he will find that the statement I have made was quite correct.
