HC Deb 29 June 1931 vol 254 cc861-2
2. Mr. DAY

asked the Secretary of State for India whether he has received a report on the derailment of the Rangoon-Mandalay mail train, which took place on the morning of Tuesday, 2nd June; and can he give particulars?

Mr. BENN

Beyond the fact that seven third-class passengers were injured I have at present nothing to add to the statement which I circulated on the 8th June.

Mr. DAY

Can the right hon. Gentleman say whether foul play is suspected?

Mr. BENN

I stated on the 8th June that it was uncertain whether the derailing was the work of rebels or not, and that is all the information I have.
