36. Mr. BECKETT

asked the Under-Secretary of State for Air the total number of accidents to Royal Air Force machines this year; the number of casualties; and the number of deaths involved by these accidents?

Mr. MONTAGUE

During this year there have been 52 accidents to Royal Air Force aeroplanes involving casualties to personnel, the total number of such casualties being 87; of these 41 were cases of injury and 46 of loss of life.

Is my hon. Friend satisfied that every possible precaution is taken?
