33. Mr. PERKINSasked the Minister of Agriculture whether, in view of the losses suffered by farmers owing to the issue by the Ministry of incorrect instructions in Pamphlet T. X 456, of 3rd June, 1931, he will compensate farmers for such losses and issue a corrected notice of the South African quarantine regulations for the guidance of farmers in future?
§ Dr. ADDISONThe notice of 3rd June, 1931, referred to in the question was an amendment of a previous notice which when issued in February last was believed to be correct. So far as I am aware, there are no incorrect instructions in the circular of the 3rd June and there is no necessity for the issue of a further amending notice. I know of only one case where difficulty has arisen in 1426 respect of the export of three ducks and I cannot admit any liability for the expenses referred to.
