HC Deb 10 June 1931 vol 253 c1019
70. Mr. BEAUMONT (for Mr. BUTLER)

asked the Postmaster-General if he can state the approximate profit, as it will appear in the commercial accounts, of the postal services for the year ended 31st March, 1931?

The ASSISTANT POSTMASTER-GENERAL (Mr. Viant)

I presume the hon. Member refers to postal services as apart from other services performed by the Post Office. The surplus for the year ended 31st March, 1931, is estimated, subject to adjustment, at about £9,884,000.
