HC Deb 22 July 1931 vol 255 cc1478-9
35. Captain HALL

(for Mr. HOPKIN) asked the Minister of Transport if he will state what the reason is for the delay in commencing work on the new bridge at Carmarthen; and when work is likely to be commenced on it?

Mr. HERBERT MORRISON

As I have already informed my hon. Friend, the delay is due to the fact that the county council and the railway company have been unable to agree as to the site of the proposed bridge. The railway company have recently submitted to the county council an alternative proposal which will be considered at the meeting of the appropriate sub-committee of the county council on the 24th instant.
