HC Deb 22 July 1931 vol 255 c1472
16. Mr. WELLOCK

asked the Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies if he is aware that a number of native schools in the Kyambu district of Kenya, provided out of native moneys, were closed down several years ago; on what grounds this action was taken: and whether it is intended to reopen these schools in the near future?

Dr. SHIELS

My Noble Friend is not aware that any schools in the Kyambu district have been closed in recent years. Inquiry will be made of the Governor of Kenya in the matter, and if my hon. Friend has any information I will be glad to have it.
