HC Deb 20 July 1931 vol 255 c1044
18. Mr. HACKING

asked the Secretary of State for India whether he will state the number of occasions upon which representations have been made by the Government of India to Congress in respect of violations of the Irwin-Gandhi agreement?

Mr. BENN

There have from time to time since March been conversations between the Home Secretary of the Government of India and Mr. Gandhi to discuss matters arising out of the agreement, and correspondence has taken place also in such connections within my knowledge.

Mr. HACKING

Have representations been made?

Mr. BENN

I presume discussions involved representations.
