HC Deb 06 July 1931 vol 254 cc1710-1
49. Mr. DAY

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether he can state the amount that has been expended by his Department on the production of films?

Dr. ADDISON

The total expenditure by the Ministry on the production of films, covering a period of six years, amounts to £1,828 15s. 2d.

Mr. DAY

Are the films for exhibition to the public, and, if so, where have they been shown, or were they made for the instruction of officials of his Department?

Dr. ADDISON

Perhaps the hon. Member will put a question down.

Mr. HANNON

Is it not a fact that the money expended on the production of films for agricultural instruction has been very well expended indeed and has produced very valuable results?

Dr. ADDISON

I think they are very much appreciated indeed, and we have been asked for more.
