§ 39. Mr. CHRISTIEasked the Minister of Health if he will issue a general circular to local authorities calling attention to the use which might be made of the provisions of the Housing (Rural Workers) Act to preserve cottages of outstanding architectural merit in their areas, and suggesting to them the desirability of seeking the co-operation of the Council for the Preservation of Rural England and local archaeological societies, so as to ensure that no such cottages shall be allowed to be destroyed or spoilt without the facilities for reconditioning available under the Act being brought to the notice of the owners?
§ Mr. GREENWOODI am sending the hon. Member a copy of a circular letter which has already been issued on this subject, and to which I propose to draw the attention of local authorities when the Housing (Rural Workers) Act Amendment Bill of this year has become law.
