HC Deb 28 January 1931 vol 247 c963
43. Captain BALFOUR

asked the Under-Secretary of State for Air whether, with regard to the proposed agreement between Imperial Airways and Pan-American Airways, Incorporated, for an Atlantic air service, any subsidy has been applied for or is contemplated; and whether the use of British aircraft will be a condition of the granting of any subsidy from public funds?

Mr. MONTAGUE

As regards the first part of the question, no formal proposals for subsidy for a trans-Atlantic air service have as yet been submitted to the Air Ministry by Imperial Airways, Limited. As regards the second part, the point mentioned by the hon. and gallant Member will be borne in mind if and when any such proposals are received. The point is observed in existing agreements.
