§ 32. Sir BERTRAM FALLEasked the First Lord of the Admiralty if he is aware that a number of men are being discharged from His Majesty's Dockyard, Portsmouth; and if any or many more men are to be discharged before the end of the financial year from that dockyard?
§ Mr. AMMONThe men who have recently been discharged from Portsmouth Yard are casual employés who were entered for specific items of repayment work and on the understanding that they would be discharged on the completion of the work for which they were entered. There may be a few more similar discharges from the yard before the end of the financial year, but this depends entirely on the progress of the work.
§ Sir B. FALLEThen the men discharged are only casuals?
