§ 35. Rear-Admiral BEAMISHasked the Secretary of State for War whether he will give particulars of the recent casting, 787 of Army horses at Brighton for veterinary reasons, stating the number, to whom sold, and at what price per head; and to what purpose they are to be put?
§ Mr. SHAWEleven Army horses recently cast at Brighton for veterinary reasons, mainly chronic lameness, were sold for human consumption to Messrs. Smith and Spalding, Limited, London. The animals were destroyed in London in the presence of a military representative. It would be contrary to practice to publish the price paid by the contractor.
