HC Deb 18 February 1931 vol 248 c1235
31. Colonel HOWARD-BURY

asked the Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies when the new commission that is to go out to Palestine will start; and who are to be the members of the commission?

Dr. SHIELS

The commission is already at work. It consists of Sir Samuel O'Donnell (Chairman) and Mr. H. Brittain of the Treasury.

Colonel HOWARD-BURY

Is not the hon. Gentleman aware that Palestine has had a surfeit of commissions, which have already reported on all relevant subjects, and that there is no need for this commission, and can he see his way to stop it.

Dr. SHIELS

I am dealing with this matter more fully to-morrow, and perhaps the hon. and gallant Gentleman will not mind my reserving my comments until them.
