HC Deb 18 February 1931 vol 248 c1235
32. Sir P. RICHARDSON

asked the Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies whether his attention has been called to the fact that the Belgian authorities have, in satisfaction of a private claim against the railways, taken possession at Port Kasenyi, Lake Albert, of a Kenya and Uganda railway lighter, which was towed to Kasenyi by the lake steamer "Robert Coryndon"; and what action the British Government proposes to take in the matter?

Dr. SHIELS

My Noble Friend has seen a report in the Press, but no communication on the subject has been received from the authorities in East Africa. If the report is correct, reference will no doubt be made in due course to my Noble Friend, and the question of action can then be considered.
