HC Deb 11 February 1931 vol 248 cc374-5
7. Mr. MARJORIBANKS

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether the League of Nations since its inception has undertaken any inquiry into conditions of oppression, slavery or forced labour in any state or territory not a member of the League or which has not invited such intervention and, if so, with what results?

Mr. A. HENDERSON

Mr. KIRKWOOD

Is not the substance of this question, oppression, slavery and forced labour, exactly what is taking place at present in Britain under capitalism?
