HC Deb 11 February 1931 vol 248 cc382-3
24. Sir B. FALLE

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty whether any decision has yet been arrived at with regard to the payment of tropical allowance to seamen ratings of the China submarine flotilla?

Mr. ALEXANDER

The whole question is still under consideration.

Sir B. FALLE

Can the right hon. Gentleman give me the limit of time that it is intended that this matter shall be under consideration?

Mr. ALEXANDER

I cannot do that, but I can say that we have written to the Commander-in-Chief in China authorising the payment of allowances to all ratings where he is satisfied they are earned.
