HC Deb 10 December 1931 vol 260 c2024
5. Mr. T. COOK

asked the Minister of Labour if he is aware that the Norfolk County Council find it necessary to impose a rate, value 1s. 5d. in the pound, for relief of unemployed agricultural labourers; that this sum hardly prevents hardships during the winter months; and, pending the report of the Unemployment Commission, will he consider further grants for schemes of a productive nature?

Sir H. BETTERTON

The first two parts of this question should be addressed to my right hon. Friend the Minister of Health. As to the approval of further schemes by the Unemployment Grants Committee, I would refer my hon. Friend to the reply given on 26th November to the hon. Member for the Rothwell Division (Mr. Lunn).
