22. Mr. EDE

asked the President of the Board of Education how many local education authorities employ no supplementary teachers, giving the figures for county councils, county boroughs, municipal boroughs, and urban districts separately?

Mr. LEES-SMITH

On the latest date for which returns are available, there were 40 local education authorities which employed no supplementary teachers. Of these, six were county boroughs, 25 were municipal boroughs, and nine were urban districts.

35. Mr. EDE

asked the Minister of Health how many county, county borough, non-county borough, and urban district councils, respectively, have brought supplementary teachers within the provisions of schemes under the Local Government Officers' Superannuation Act, 1922?
