§ 43. Sir ARTHUR STEEL-MAITLANDasked the Minister of Labour whether any agreement has been reached between the British, French, Italian and German Governments as to the construction of the term hours of work in the Washington Hours Convention, and as to the adoption of that construction in domestic legislation, serving as a basis for the ratification of the convention by those countries?
§ Miss BONDFIELDThe right hon. Gentlemen will recollect that the construction of the term to which he refers was one of the matters dealt with at the London Conference of Ministers of Labour, over which he presided, in 1926. There has been no further negotiation on the subject between the Governments mentioned in the question.
