HC Deb 15 April 1931 vol 251 c184
4. Captain CAZALET (for Mr. SHAKESPEARE)

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what steps he proposes to take in consequence of representations made to him concerning Polish atrocities in the Ukraine?

The UNDER-SECRETARY of STATE for FOREIGN AFFAIRS (Mr. Dalton)

As was stated on the 1st of April, in reply to a question by my hon. Friend the Member for Dewsbury (Mr. B. Riley), a committee of three members of the Council, of which my right hon. Friend is one, is to meet to-morrow to consider petitions addressed to the League of Nations on behalf of the Ukrainian minority in Poland.

Captain CAZALET

Have not the Polish authorities already taken steps to remedy the situation and punish those responsible for the crimes committed in that area?

Mr. DALTON

That is quite a different question. This question is as to what steps my right hon. Friend proposes to take. Perhaps the hon. and gallant Member will put another question down.
