§ 70. Mr. ALBERYasked the Minister of Agriculture if he can report any action which the Government proposes to take as a result of the deputation which he recently received from the National Farmers' Union?
§ Dr. ADDISONThe deputation practically confined itself to asking for an immediate subsidy, and the Government have repeatedly stated that crude subsidies form no part of their agricultural policy.
§ Mr. ALBERYDoes the right hon. Gentleman hold the view that there is no exceptional crisis in the farming industry at the present time?
§ Dr. ADDISONThe legislative programme shortly to be submitted to Parliament will provide the answer to that question.
