HC Deb 27 November 1930 vol 245 c1483
54. Duchess of ATHOLL

asked the President of the Board of Education how many exchanges of teachers in elementary and secondary schools, respectively, have been carried out to date with teachers in schools in the Dominions; and how many of the teachers so exchanged have been men and how many women?

Sir C. TREVELYAN

I understand that since the year 1919, 694 English and Welsh teachers have carried out exchanges with teachers in the Dominions under arrangements made by the League of the Empire. Of these 671 were employed in elementary schools, 21 in secondary schools, and two in training colleges. Thirty were men and 664 were women.
