§ 63. Mr. D. G. SOMERVILLEasked the Minister of Transport whether he is aware that during the past few weeks there has been an unusual demand for and distribution of motor driving licences available during 1931 as a result of the desire of many people to avoid the obligation of filling in the new licensing forms; and whether, with a view to reducing as far as possible the number of physically unfit drivers on the road before the speed limit is removed, he will take steps to obtain a declaration of physical fitness from all those who have obtained driving licences since the 1st October of this year?
§ Mr. HERBERT MORRISONI am not aware that there has recently been any unusual demand for motor drivers' licences. I have no power to call for a declaration of physical fitness from persons who have obtained drivers' licences under the Motor Car Act, 1903.
