HC Deb 17 November 1930 vol 245 c45
103. Mr. HARRIS

asked the President of the Board of Education whether he is aware of the hardships suffered by many head teachers by the downgrading now going on; and whether he will consider reverting to Clause 8 of the Burnham Agreement instead of the present salary decision 30?

Sir C. TREVELYAN

The Burnham Committee have recently been re-considering parts of their report which deal with the re-grading of head teachers, with a view to preventing the hardships to which the hon. Member refers, and as a result they have made an amendment of the report, which has been accepted by the Board of Education for grant purposes and has been circulated to local education authorities. I am sending the hon. Member a copy of this amendment.
