asked the Home Secretary whether any steps have been taken by his Department to control or supervise the manufacture or sale of chemicals or poisonous substances likely to be made use of in war; and, if so, of what character?

Mr. CLYNES

Apart from the measures taken under the Factory Acts with a view to safeguarding the health of persons employed in various manufacturing processes, no such steps have been taken by my Department.
