HC Deb 03 November 1930 vol 244 c438
8. Major POLE

asked the Secretary of State for India whether the Government of India has accepted the recommendation of the Haj Inquiry Committee to the effect that a centralised agency should be set up to keep the Government in close touch with the problems relating to Haj pilgrims; and whether any decision has been arrived at by the Government in regard to the other recommendations of the above Committee?

Mr. BENN

As regards the first part of the question, I would refer my hon. and gallant Friend to the reply which I gave to a question asked by him on the 31st July. I have not yet heard what the intentions of the Government of India are in regard to the other recommendations of the committee.

Major POLE

Has the right hon. Gentleman any indication when he will hear from the Government of India?

Mr. BENN

I should be glad to inquire when I may expect to hear.
