asked the Secretary to the Overseas Trade Department the current amount for which the Government is liable under the export credits guarantee scheme in respect of British exports to Brazil; and will he state the amount represented by defaulted bills in respect of Brazilian business guaranteed under the scheme?

It is not desirable to give this information.

55. Mr. HACKING

asked the Secretary to the Overseas Trade Department the total face value of contracts entered into under the export credits guarantee scheme between exporters in this country and importers in all overseas countries other than Russia since the scheme was extended to include that country?

Mr. GILLETT

The total face value of contracts entered into under the exports credits guarantee scheme from the 1st August, 1929, to 25th October last in connection with exports to all countries other than Russia was £4,944,699.
