HC Deb 26 May 1930 vol 239 c796
34. Mr. MARJORIBANKS

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether, having regard to the fact that the censorship of telegrams between a Government and its Ambassadors abroad is contrary to international usage, he will make a request to the Soviet Ambassador that the Soviet Government shall conform to such usage?

Mr. A. HENDERSON

The hon. Member is under a misapprehension. There is no censorship of official telegrams despatched from His Majesty's Embassy at Moscow.

Mr. MARJORIBANKS

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that he has greatly reassured the House, in view of an answer to the opposite effect by his hon. Friend?

Mr. HENDERSON

I know of no such answer.
