HC Deb 26 May 1930 vol 239 cc781-2
6. Sir KINGSLEY WOOD

asked the Secretary of State for India whether the circumstances of the detention of Mr. Gandhi permit him to give interviews to the Press; and, if so, what, if any, are the conditions laid down in respect thereto?

10. Major the Marquess of TITCHFIELD

asked the Secretary of State for India whether his attention has been drawn to the fact that an interview with Mr. Gandhi has been published in this country; under what regulation such an interview was permitted; and were any conditions laid down?

Mr. BENN

I gather that the grant of this Press interview was to some extent due to a misunderstanding, which will not recur.

15. Major GRAHAM POLE

asked the Secretary of State for India whether he has had any recent report with regard to the state of Mr. Gandhi's health?

Mr. BENN

No, Sir, nothing Later than, a report of 5th May that he had arrived at Yeravda, in excellent health.
