HC Deb 19 May 1930 vol 239 cc33-4
70. Mr. DAY

asked the First Commissioner of Works whether he has received any requests from British film-producing companies asking him to grant facilities for taking scenes of special views and incidents in Hyde Park and/or other Royal Parks; can he say whether these permissions have been granted; and will he give particulars?

Mr. LANSBURY

Applications for facilities for taking scenes of special views and incidents in the Royal Parks are frequently asked, and are readily granted. The policy of the Department in regard to staging scenes of film plays in the parks has recently been modified, and the Department is now prepared to consider on their merits applications to stage such scenes if this can be arranged in the early morning, and without inconvenience to the public. So far only one such application has been received, and this has been granted.
