HC Deb 14 May 1930 vol 238 cc1861-2
25. Mr. DAY

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty whether any recent practical experiments of submarine salvage have taken place; and whether the Admiralty are considering adopting the new protection which has recently been adopted by the United States Navy?

Mr. ALEXANDER

Experimental work with submarine salvage fittings is proceeding. As I informed the House in November last (OFFICIAL REPORT, 13th November; column 1993), all personnel serving in submarines are being supplied with the Davis Submarine Escape Apparatus and arrangements are being made also to train them in its use.
