§ 57. Mr. WHITEasked the Under-Secretary of State for Air if any estimates of the final cost of the construction of the Singapore Base submitted to Parliament have included any sums in respect of the estimated cost of the air defences of the base?
§ Mr. MONTAGUEI would refer the hon. Member to the provision made for the cost of the Singapore Base in Vote 4, Air Estimates, 1930, pages 89 and 92–93. The most recent summary of the total estimated cost of the base, including the Air Base, was given by the Chancellor of the Exchequer in answer to a question in the House on 17th December last.
