HC Deb 14 May 1930 vol 238 cc1873-4
56. Mr. WHITE

asked the Under-Secretary of State for Air if he can state the total cost of upkeep, maintenance, and repairs of the R.101 since the date this airship was commissioned?

Mr. MONTAGUE

The expenditure, including overhead charges, on airship R.101 from the date she left her shed for flight trials up to 31st March, 1930, was approximately £34,000, of which £21,000 was in respect of modifications for the purpose of improving the airship's performance.

Sir G. PENNY

Does that include the flight given to Members of Parliament?
