HC Deb 31 March 1930 vol 237 c866
5. Major POLE

asked the Secretary of State for India whether, in view of the success of the scheme for the training of Indian boys on the training ship "Dufferin," stationed at Bombay, the Government of India will consider the desirability of establishing a similar training ship at Calcutta?

Mr. BENN

I have not heard of such a proposal being made to the Government of India.

Major POLE

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that the Federated Indian Chambers of Commerce sent a resolution to the Government of India some time ago?

Mr. BENN

That has not come to my notice. I did not know that was the case.
