§ Sir C. TREVELYANI am not aware that there is any scarcity of men teachers in Liverpool. The responsibility for the staffing of the schools rests with the local education authority in the first instance; but I will make inquiries on the point raised by my hon. Friend and shall be glad to inform him as to the result.
