HC Deb 27 March 1930 vol 237 cc596-7
52. Mr. HALL-CAINE

asked the President of the Board of Education whether he is aware of the scarcity of men teachers in Liverpool; and if he will take steps to see that an adequate simply of teachers is available to fill the places of those who will be leaving at the end of the present term?

Sir C. TREVELYAN

I am not aware that there is any scarcity of men teachers in Liverpool. The responsibility for the staffing of the schools rests with the local education authority in the first instance; but I will make inquiries on the point raised by my hon. Friend and shall be glad to inform him as to the result.
