HC Deb 13 March 1930 vol 236 c1475
44. Mr. MANDER

asked the President of the Board of Education if his attention has been called to the work carried out by the National Institute of Industrial Psychology on the subject of vocational guidance at the institute and in various schools, elementary and other, in different parts of the country; and whether it is his intention that this work shall be further developed?

Sir C. TREVELYAN

I have seen reports of this work, but it is being carried out by the National Institute of Industrial Psychology on their own responsibility, and the question of its further development is not one that I have any authority to determine.

Mr. BEAUMONT

In view of the extreme danger of this work, will the right hon. Gentleman use great care in introducing it into national schools?

Mr. MANDER

Will the Minister give very careful and sympathetic consideration to the possibility of the development of this work in the interests of the children?

Sir C. TREVELYAN

Up to the present no suggestions have been made to me by those people.
