asked the Minister of Labour how many persons are registered as unemployed, according to the latest available figures, in Manchester and Salford; and what is the increase in their number since May, 1929?

At 3rd March, 1930, there were 52,508 persons on the registers of Employment Exchanges in the Manchester and Salford area, an increase of 16,702 as compared with 27th May, 1929.
