HC Deb 13 March 1930 vol 236 cc1476-7
53. Mr. GOULD

asked the President of the Board of Education the number of blacklisted schools now in use in the administrative county of Somerset; how many are provided; and what number are non-provided?

Sir C. TREVELYAN

There are seven schools in Somersetshire included in the "black list" as unsuitable for continued recognition—one provided and six non-provided. There are 40 other schools listed as in some degree defective—11 provided and 29 non-provided.

Major GEORGE DAVIES

Is it not a fact that in this respect Somerset compares more than favourably with other counties?
