HC Deb 19 June 1930 vol 240 cc575-6
53. Mr. HORE-BELISHA

asked the Minister of Health whether the views of approved societies, insurance committees, and other representative bodies have been considered in the general survey of national insurance and pensions claims?

Mr. GREENWOOD

The hon. Member may be assured that all relevant consideration will be before the Cabinet Committee at present engaged on a general survey of the existing insurance and pensions legislation.

Mr. HORE-BELISHA

How long has this survey been in progress, and how long is it proposed to continue?

Mr. GREENWOOD

I have said before that this is a matter which is going to require continuous consideration from this and other Governments, and, therefore, we cannot name a date.

54. Mr. HORE-BELISHA

asked the Minister of Health whether the inquiry being held into existing insurance and pensions legislation has now been completed; and whether it is proposed to introduce legislation?

Mr. GREENWOOD

The general survey of the existing insurance and pensions legislation has not yet been completed, and I cannot forecast the conclusions of the Cabinet Committee.
