HC Deb 05 June 1930 vol 239 c2372
47. Captain CROOKSHANK

asked the Prime Minister whether any agreement was reached at the London Naval Conference regarding the gun-elevation of United States capital ships; and, if so, will he state its terms?

The PRIME MINISTER

I would refer to the statement made on the subject by my right hon. Friend the First Lord of the Admiralty in this House on 15th May last.

Captain CROOKSHANK

Was anything signed; and is anything to be published on the subject?

The PRIME MINISTER

It was fully explained in the speech of my right hon. Friend.

Captain CROOKSHANK

Surely, it is always better to have these things in writing—in the form of White Papers.
