§ 27. Mr. MARJORIBANKSasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether the Foreign Office has access to the Statutes in force in the Soviet Union and to the reported decisions of their Courts?
Mr. A. HENDERSONThe Statutes in Force in the Soviet Union, as in other countries, are available in the Foreign Office. Reports of cases in the Soviet Courts are not ordinarily available, but I should, of course, be informed by His Majesty's Ambassador of any case especially affecting British interests.
§ Mr. MARJORIBANKSAs the Statutes in force in the Soviet Union are available to the right hon. Gentleman, why will he not answer what is the punishment attaching to religion in Russia?
Mr. HENDERSONI will again remind the hon. Member that information may be available for me, but it may not be in the public interest to deal with it by way of an answer to questions.
