HC Deb 30 July 1930 vol 242 c461
2. Sir NICHOLAS GRATTAN-DOYLE

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he proposes to make any statement before the end of the Session as to the progress of the negotiations with the representatives of the Soviet government on the question of debt claims?

Mr. DALTON

I would refer the hon. Member to my statement yesterday in the course of the debate on the Foreign Office Vote.

Sir N. GRATTAN-DOYLE

Have the Soviet Government shown any disposition to recognise these claims?

Mr. DALTON

They have shown a disposition to do what was never done under the previous Administration, namely, to come into a joint committee with us and discuss the matter.
