HC Deb 16 July 1930 vol 241 c1282
7. Dr. DAVIES (for Sir N. GRATTAN-DOYLE)

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether any cases of seizure of British or Canadian vessels have been submitted to arbitration under Article 4 of the Liquor Convention with the United States of America of 1924 and are awaiting hearing?

Mr. A. HENDERSON

The only case in which this Article has been invoked is that of the Canadian schooner "I'm Alone," which was sunk by a United States coastguard cutter on the 22nd of March, 1929. Discussions regarding procedure in this case are now in progress between the Canadian and United States Governments.
