§ 39. Sir ROBERT NEWMANasked the Secretary for Mines whether he can state the youngest age at which boys are employed working underground in the coal mines, and the maximum hours a day that boys under 16 years of age are thus employed?
§ Mr. SHINWELLNo boy may be employed in a coal mine until he is 14 years of age. The law as to their hours of employment is the same as that for other underground workmen.
