§ 27. Sir A. SINCLAIR
asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what number of new holdings and enlargements, respectively, were constituted in Scotland during the year 1929; and the number contemplated for the current year?
Mr. W. ADAMSON
The numbers of new holdings and enlargements constituted in 1929 were 107 and 64 respectively. It is not possible at this date to forecast with accuracy the 1761 numbers of holdings and enlargements which will be constituted during the present year.
§ Sir A. SINCLAIR
Cannot the right hon. Gentleman give me some indication? Is he not aware that every year about this date, or even earlier, I have asked the same question, and that I have always received some rough estimate? Will he give me some rough estimate if I put the question down next year?
I have already intimated in the House that land settlement will be speeded up to the full extent of the money available.
