HC Deb 06 February 1930 vol 234 c2072
68. Lieut.-Colonel ACLAND-TROYTE

asked the Minister of Health whether he proposes to introduce legislation to allow local authorities to pay for the orthopaedic treatment of children?

Mr. GREENWOOD

I am advised that local sanitary authorities already have power to provide all necessary hospital treatment for orthopaedic patients, and that under Section 14 of the Local Government Act, 1929, county councils will have this power as from 1st April next.

Lieut.-Colonel ACLAND-TROYTE

Can local authorites supply treatment for children between 14 and 16?

Mr. GREENWOOD

I understand that they can do it to people of all ages.
