Mr. PHILIP OLIVERasked the Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies whether, seeing that a draft Bill has been introduced into the Ceylon Legislature designed to protect adopted children from cruelty, he will ask the Governor of the Colony to forward a copy of this Bill coupled with any suggested amendments to it?
§ Dr. SHIELSThe Governor will be asked to forward a copy of the Bill, on the understanding that its introduction into the Legislative Council is not thereby delayed. The Bill when passed by the Council will, of course, he submitted for the signification of His Majesty's pleasure in the ordinary course.
